Which Cricket Is in Your Columbus Home?

Not every cricket you find indoors is the same, and the species matters when it comes to treatment. Our Associate Certified Entomologist (ACE) on staff brings that identification knowledge to every service call.

Three species are most common in Columbus-area homes:

House crickets are yellowish-brown, chirp loudly, and can survive and reproduce indoors year-round without returning outside.
Camel crickets (also called cave crickets) are wingless and humpbacked, don’t chirp, and tend to congregate in damp basements and crawl spaces. Their silence is part of what makes them easy to miss until numbers grow.
